Legacy and Transmission - A Thematic Analysis

Legacy and Transmission - A Thematic Analysis

When I read personal guidance using the technique of Mindful Divination, I analyze my cards and oracles in order to get a message highlighting a specific theme on which I can meditate. This guidance was created using the Tarot of the celestial realms to help you visualize how I work; I invite you to read the analysis of the cards and associations to help you in your own practice.

The theme that emerges today deals with the transmission of a heritage through our own individual evolution within the group and how this transmission takes place in our daily life. If you wish, you can zoom in the picture to observe the illustrations and do your own analysis; you can also make your own print using the proposed theme as inspiration.

THE DECK

When I perform a guidance using the Tarot, I draw between 3 to 9 cards. For this reading, I used the Tarot of the Celestial Kingdoms published by Leduc editions, from which I selected 9 cards, which I will analyze line by line and column by column to clarify the guidance of the cards. I will start by analyzing each card individually based on the illustrations and my intuition in order to create a baseline on which I will rely to synthesize the message.

ANALYSING THE LINES

  • The first line consists of the force, the Knight of wands and the Knight of pentacles. As part of this analysis, I will rely on the illustrations rather than the text proposed in the booklet to highlight the meaning of the cards, you can do the same if you want to make your own reading!
-The first card depicts a young woman with her eyes closed, holding gently in her hand a water lily, a lion with a ghostly appearance standing behind her. This card inspires me the mastery of inner strength, allowing an individual to measure how they applies their energy in their daily life.
-The second card shows a young man mounted on a bird, ready to act, he controls his mount to give it a precise direction without ignoring his natural instincts. He gives it a direction while trusting in the natural capacities of its mount.
-The third card depicts a young man alone, looking at a small coin decorated with a star. This gives me the feeling that he is thinking about the best way to use his assets, in order to act wisely and to take a fair and enlightened path without rushing. He shows patience and wisdom in considering where he is before acting.

"The mastery of my passions allows me to measure wisely the actions I will carry out, I can give the necessary impulsion to the realization of my dreams by respecting my needs and my natural talents, while observing with care what naturally belongs to me. It is the balance of giving and receiving: when I give I receive, when I receive I give."

    • The second line consists of the Queen of cups, the Ten of wands and the Emperor.
-The first card depicts a queen surrounded by whales, with a ship in her hands. It inspires me the sweetness of a mother who carries her child and feeds it until it is ready to be born.
-The second card shows a small fairy with her eyes closed, sitting on a mushroom, her bucket at her feet and a beautiful plant, carrying ten stars behind her. It inspires me in the attentive and constant work that every gardener must do to bring their plants to maturity, respecting their needs, while leaving them the space to grow at their own pace.
-The third card depicts an Emperor, the man can be seen sitting on a throne directing his scepter extended towards the sky. This imagery refers very clearly to previous ones, it makes me think that, like everything in life, a fair balance of giving and receiving is necessary. The gardener is the only one who can decide the correctness of their actions, it is by controlling his emotions and his own needs that he can make his garden flourish in the long term.

"It is through patience and detachment that I find my balance: the right balance between giving my time and energy to allow a seed to take root, until I receive the ripe fruit born of my care, having the wisdom not to take by force what can be offered to me by nature.

    • The third line consists of the Hermite, the Valet of pentacles and the Hanged man.
-The first card shows a monk with a sceptre and a lantern, eyes closed, meditating on the next step. This tells me that the ability of an individual to become aware of the value of what he already possesses is the key to his abundance in the present moment.
-The second card shows a young woman watching a coin with attention, in the background a wide open arch seems to be calling her to a new path. Very similar to the imagery of the Hermite, the valet here invites us to light the fire of our inner lantern and to use wisely the little things that seem insignificant to us.
-The third card depicts a man suspended by a foot, from a tree whose red apples are about to fall to the ground. This card inspires me to let go of our resistences and surrender to the natural cycles of life. The man can also be seen as an apple that is about to fall from the tree, if given time and space to ripen they will naturally fall to the ground.

'When I recognize the value of what I already have and how I can use it, I naturally come out of immobility. I no longer need to act and I can afford to let my life unfold naturally, knowing that all my needs are be met in their own time. That way I can focus on the moment and detach from anguish."

See how the story takes shape slowly:

By accurately measuring how I use my energy, I can grow my dreams while preserving myself. When I respect my needs, I also respect those around me and allow the natural cycles of my life to happen naturally. Thus, I recognize the value of what I already possess, what is naturally offered to me and what I naturally offer without forcing. I can then enjoy every moment knowing that I am loved and protected.

      ANALYSING THE COLUMNS

If you have the information you need in your own reading, you can complete your analysis with the previous step; however, if you want to go further, you can analyze each column to receive more details.

      • The first column consists of the Strenght, the Queen of Cups and the Hermit.
You can rely on the previous analyses and immediately proceed to the synthesis. As part of this article I will recall the analyses of each card.
-The first card depicts a young woman with her eyes closed, gently holding a water lily, a ghostly-looking lion behind her. This card inspires me the mastery of our inner strength, allowing an individual to measure how they applies their energy in their daily life.
-The second card depicts a mermaid surrounded by whales, gently carrying a ship in her hands. It inspires me with the sweetness of a mother who carries her child and feeds it until it is ready to be born.
-The third card shows a monk with a sceptre and a lantern, eyes closed, meditating on the next step. This tells me that the ability of an individual to become aware of the value of what he already possesses is the key to his abundance in the present moment.

"Mastering my inner strength and emotional balance allows me to carry, nurture and protect the seed of my dreams until the next stage of its evolution."

        • The second column consists of the Knight of Wands, the 10 of Wands and the Valet of Deniers.
-The first card shows a young man mounted on a bird, ready to act, he controls his mount to give it a precise direction without denying his natural instincts. He gives it a direction while trusting the natural capacities of its mount.
-The second card shows a small fairy with her eyes closed, sitting on a mushroom, her bucket at her feet and a beautiful plant with ten stars behind it. It inspires me in the attentive and constant work that every gardener must do to bring their plants to maturity, respecting their needs, while leaving them the space to grow at their own pace.
-The third card depicts a young woman observing a coin with attention, in the background a wide open arch seems to call her to a new path. Very similar to the imagery of the Hermite, the valet here invites us to light the fire of our inner lantern and to use wisely the little things that seem insignificant to us.

"When the fruits of my labor are ripe, those who need them recognize it and naturally share them, like a bird eating a juicy cherry in the spring."

        • Finally the third column consists of the Knight of pentacles, the Emperor and the Hanged Man.
-The first card depicts a young man alone, looking at a small coin decorated with a star. This gives me the feeling that he is thinking about the best way to use his assets, in order to act wisely in his life and to take a fair and enlightened path without rushing. He shows patience and wisdom in considering where he is before acting.
-The second card depicts an Emperor, a man can be seen sitting on a throne with his scepter extended towards the sky. This imagery refers very clearly to the previous ones, it makes me think that, like everything in life, a fair balance of giving and receiving is necessary. The gardener is the only one who can decide the correctness of his actions, it is by controlling his emotions and his own needs that he can make his garden flourish in the long term.
-The third card depicts a man suspended by a foot, from a tree whose red apples are about to fall to the ground. This card inspires me to let go and welcome natural cycles. The man can also be seen as an apple that is about to fall from the tree, if given time and space to ripen they will naturally fall to the ground.

"Every individual, like every plant, is born from a seed; every fruit therefore hides a potential forest. The Emperor’s responsibility, as well as that of the forest, is to keep the cycles of life in harmony, offering the fruits of his labour to life.

          SYNTHESIS

Now that the reading is done, I will be able to synthesize the previous analysis, simplifying the message to make it resonate more with my feelings. Here is the summary with which I end this guidance:

By learning how to use my energies wisely, I can grow my dreams with accuracy. When I am aware of my own nature, I know how to respect myself and I can honour my truth in good consciousness; I thus respect the natural order of my life and can enjoy it without forcing.

Mastering and respecting my personal balance allows me to bring my dreams to fulfilment; when the fruits of my labor are ripe, they naturally attract those who need them, which in turn will maintain the natural cycles by spreading the seeds of my creation to the four winds.
